Strengths

There are a great amount of strengths that we have in our news package due to it being based on smoking and the effects it has on the human body. They are listed below: 

• Our news package not only informs the viewer of the effects of smoking but will also suggest different types of techniques and products which a smoker can use to stop smoking. 
• Along side that our news package also takes the view point of other people and what they think about smoking. For example in our news package we will be asking families and what effects it has on them and their family atmosphere. 
• Our news package will also be getting quality advice from a professional NHS doctor along with a set of questions we will ask him. This will give the opportunity for the viewers to get a professionals view of smoking and the different sorts of effects it can have on the human body. 
• Our news package will also give the viewer facts and statistics on smoking which will allow the viewers who smoke to really understand the effects which smoking can have on their body and informing them about what can happen to them in the later future of their lives. 
• In our news package we will also be getting smokers views on what they think about smoking and the reasons why they smoke which will give the viewers an understanding of why smokers smoke.

Weaknesses

There are also some weaknesses within our news package and they are listed below:

• Our news package may be quite a personnel topic which people may not want to talk about straight away not feeling comfortable about it and thinking its something they would rather keep to them selves.
• Also we were going to base our new package on stoptober which has just passed leaving us with a lower range of things to talk to which the government is doing to help stop smoking.
• Shop keepers may also not want to be interviewed about selling cigarettes to people and we will have to cut the interviews on shop keepers out.

There aren't many weaknesses within are news package and the ones above we will try to make happen in the most positive and suitable way we can.

Reasons for Final Choice
The reasons why we picked smoking for our news package is for a range of reasons, these re listed below:

• Smoking is something that people can easily relate to and it will give them quality information which shows the effects it has and also different techniques and products they can use to stop smoking. 
• Smoking is also something which is a huge global drug that is legal so it will give people who smoke some advice on what to do in order to quit.
• Smoking also effects families and due to our choice being smoking it will give the families the advice they need in order to make a better family atmosphere without smoking.
